The DIMERS project, funded by the French National Agency for Research, is dedicated to the study of combinatorial and probabilistic aspects of dimer and related models from statistical physics.
It offers a one-year postdoc to be started in 2023. The successful applicant will join the research activity of the DIMERS project members. There is no teaching duty.
The salary offered will be around 2200 euros per month depending on experience. We will also provide the postdoc with some travel money (around 1500 euros per year).
The candidate should have a strong background in at least one of the following subjects: probability theory, algebraic combinatorics, theoretical physics. His/her research interests should be related to dimer models at least in some of its aspects. Possible research themes include: determinantal processes, discrete differential geometry and complex analysis, integrable systems, statistical mechanics, conformally invariant stochastic processes.
The default affiliation of the post-doc would be the probability department (LPSM) of Sorbonne Université, which is located in the center of Paris and interacts with many other research institutions.
